Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL and MySQL)
Our Investment Bank client is looking for a high calibre to join their regional database team as Senior Database Administrator/ Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide PostgreSQL/MySQL DBA support and troubleshooting for complex issues.
- Ensure database integrity, availability, security, and performance.
- Monitor uptime and performance; recommend optimizations and automation.
- Manage capacity planning, space, backups, recovery, and patching.
- Support environment setup, migration, upgrades, and scripting tasks.
- Handle user management, access control, and operational problem resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation for morning/weekend support.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.
- 5-8 years' DBA experience (3+ with PostgreSQL/MySQL).
- Expertise in installation, migration, tuning, backup/recovery, and replication.
- Proficient in Linux, shell scripting (Bash/Perl), and command-line tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills (English; Chinese preferred).
- Familiarity with MS SQL, Oracle, Python, and ITIL principles a plus.
- Experience in financial or regulated industries preferred.
