Database Administrator
Our client who is major financial market operator in Hong Kong is looking for a Database Administrator to join their team to maintain the administration and support for the company-wise database infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and support databases on Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.
- Implement solutions in high-performance environments requiring stability and low latency.
- Assist application teams with database setup and SQL performance reviews.
- Advise on technical architecture and database configurations.
- Manage Oracle, IBM DB2, GaussDB, and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Ensure compliance with standards and conduct regular system reviews.
- Maintain system availability and ensure optimal database functionality.
- Review SQL queries and application interactions with databases.
- Collaborate with vendors for quality delivery and implementation.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle, IBM DB2, GaussDB, or PostgreSQL.
- Proficient in shell scripting and programming; experience with RAC, ASM, DataGuard, and HADR is a plus.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with database security, backup, and performance monitoring.
- Skilled in automation and process improvement scripting.
- Familiarity with AWS RDS, MongoDB, or MSSQL is advantageous.
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
